Who says events must be held on weekends in order to bring in the crowd? More than 200 children, plus many more adults, turned up for our Christmas Party on 22 Dec 08, a Monday night.
The whole event was absolutely free of charge, and those who came got to eat a buffet dinner, listen to storytelling, watch a magic show, and even perform on stage to get goodies! All the children were also given free ice cream and a gingerbread man each at the end of the event; everyone went back in high spirits, looking forward to next year's Christmas Party as well as our other upcoming RC activities.
Please enjoy the photo slideshow video above and have a Merry Christmas!

Southern Ridges Nature Walk

On Sunday 21 Dec 08, 95 participants woke up early to go for our first nature walk at Southern Ridges. We walked through various interesting parts of the trail, such as Mount Faber, Henderson Wave, Hilltop Walk, Forest Walk, Alexandra Arch and Hort Park. Although it was a bright sunny morning, there was a constant breeze that kept us cool and in high spirits. After the walk, we had brunch at West Coast food centre before returning back to Yew Tee.
Feedback from the participants was good, and since our members had as much fun as our residents, we have decided to organize another trip around March next year. For those who missed out on this one, do look out for the next one!

Mischief Killer Litter
At Block 771, there was a family who used to put plastic bottles outside their home, as part of their gardening watering tools. Recently, the bottles went missing and were discovered at the foot of the block.
We would advise all residents to keep a lookout and avoid having such items along the corridor as vandals may use it out of mischief, and people may get hurt. The problem is many residents knows who the culprit is but are too afraid to confront, for fear of repurcussions !!
Do what is right, and not let the "if only" thinking come into play, only when someone got hurt.
