Fire At Block 771 Rubbish Chute

On 17 Jan 09, at approximately 2.50pm, we received our 1st of 7 calls from residents of Block 771 that the CRC (Central Rubbish Chute) was on fire, where the cause is still under investigation ... and it was indeed a very hugh fire that circuit breakers, power supplies in the chute were all damaged. The resultant fire caused both lifts to stop operating. The fire brigade arrived at 3.15pm to help put out the fire. We are thankful that EMSU came as soon as possible and got the lift working by 5pm.

Our RC will be going round each block and start educating residents of the consequences in being careless with our flame disposal or even rubbish disposal. Any naked flame could ignite loose litter and cause a bigger damage than this.
