Dear residents/vehicle owners,
CRIME ALERT: THEFT FROM VEHICLES
Recently, several cases of theft from vehicles had occurred at the car parks of housing estates. The cases were believed to be committed overnight when human traffic was low. The culprit(s) would smash the vehicle’s front window or windscreen to steal the cash card.
2 It is important to note that such thefts can be prevented and you can play an important role in our continued efforts to deter crimes of such nature by adopting the following crime prevention measures:
i. Avoid parking your vehicle in secluded and dimly-lit areas.
ii. Never leave any removable valuable items such as money, cash cards, laptops, etc exposed in your vehicle, even for a short period of time.
iii. Keep a record of the serial numbers of valuable items such as laptops, handphones (IMEI no.) and/or cash cards. This information could help the Police in our investigations.
3 If you have any information pertaining to the above cases or wish to report persons loitering suspiciously around your neighbourhood, please call Choa Chu Kang Neighbourhood Police Centre at 1800 – 765 9999 or dial 999 if urgent Police assistance is required.
