Another case of mischief

At around 9.20am on 31 Jan, a resident at Blk 764 awoke to a burning smell. Upon investigation, someone had set fire to a cloth and straw mat beside the staircase. With the help of neighbours, they put out the small fire. Subsequently the SCDF and police were called in to investigate the matter.

Residents are advised not to leave flammable items in the corridors, and to be vigilant and inform the police if any suspicious characters are spotted loitering around.

Although not related to this topic, we experienced a pretty unpleasant incident in Blk 763 on this same day (31 Jan 2010)evening around 6pm. One of the neighbors directly above my unit had thrown a plastic bag with some brown color sticky liquid (may be a rotten food or a medicine?) from thier living room window. It banged on my living room window wall and sprayed the liquid and particles all over my white fabric sofa, floor and window metal shades.

This was not the first time this kind of incident happen at this window. Often we see partly eaten food packets, coffee carrier bags with coffee, cigarette buds thrown out of the window and drop on my window. Determined to investigate more I went out of the block and had a closer look. I can see the smashed plastic bag with brown color stuff on the ground floor below my window. The liquid stains are visible in every floor until my 6th floor window. Obviously, it has been thrown from 7th floor unit directly above my unit. I have taken photos and video of the evidence.

What should I do? Whom to complain? Now that we know the culprits, what is the advice from RC to teach a lesson to this inconsiderate neighbor not to do this kind of act in the future?

Hi Free Thinker,

In situations like this, we are usually very careful in our actions. For example, it was mentioned you have evidence which is from the 7th storey onwards, who is the real culprit ?? 7th to 17th storey, who ? unless the pictures and videos can pinpoint to the exact unit, it is not hard evidence. It could be the highest possibility that it is your 7th floor neighbour, but not conclusive. Forward us your pics and unit number to our email address and we see how to manage it after viewing it - Vincent
