What a way to start the year as a grassroots leader. I have a busy month in January 2008, with me attending to 5 neighbour disputes ranging from noise, assumptions, rights, common sense and blockages .... with one common factor among them all ... to reciprocate !!!
This is actually one of the main reasons why in Zone 9 estate, we are looking for good neighbours as it would help to balance the many negative happenings with news and stories of people, who are tolerent and try and make things work, even though they are the victims. In my opinion, efforts put in will not be wasted, as it will build a selfless environment where our children can grow and learn.
Why should I give in and tolerate ? It is no joke trying to mediate and ask both parties to compromise, but am thankful that 12 years of effort in building this estate have helped me much as victims or aggressors know me, it really had made things much easier as families "Give Me Face". Thanks for endorsing that my volunteer time put in over the years have been fruitful.
Gone are the kampung days where everyone is learning to live with one another and in harmony. I really miss those days ....
